ASUS tends to stop updating drivers on support pages for devices after a few years and I know we have people running some older hardware. In many cases the support page also doesn't have the latest version of Aura available. I am a single person working on this project, and so I cannot take on people using random versions of Lighting service. The more configurations I have to support people using with Chroma Control the bigger the support burden. Armory Crate also provides support for other motherboard features such as the OLED screen on some higher end boards. Using Armory Crate does not mean you are required to get driver updates from it as well, I get all my drivers from the support page. I don't want the support nightmare of people trying to track down specific versions of lighting service and device HALs when they can be delivered from Armory Crate with little to no user intervention. This is the direction ASUS is going and so this will be the only supported method of installing Lighting service along with any device HALs. Should be similar for all new ASUS boards. You cannot get the aura service installer from the driver download page for pretty much any new device from ASUS and even on the aura page only an armory crate download is available: (This will be documented on the upcoming website due in the next few weeks). You must remove the Aura plugin from iCUE first. I have a Rog Zephyrous G15 with a Ryzen 7, 16GB ram, 1TB storage, RTX 3060 GPU.You can have Armory Crate and iCUE at the same time. Might as well include my HAL/Service version. How did you go about uninstalling previous versions of Armoury Crate (and Aura Kit/Creator/Whatever).ĭid you use the uninstaller that Asus provides? I suffer from no keyboard backlight at all, and i might try this to see if it works. What issues did you have with Armoury Crate before? To keep it "safe", I made a system image, then installed the software, changed my keyboard colours, then I restored the system to previous images so I dont have useless services and things hanging around. So after having problems with armoury crate not working, I found this (courtesy of another user from this forum) and it just worked.
